What the air does out here
Mile 10 is where Route 109 changes gears, at a painted gate with the first fruit stand of Orchard Valley just inside. After nine miles of clean air the breeze goes jam-dark, black raspberry with the vanilla cream right behind it, and the whole valley smells like it got up early to do this. Orchard Valley opens with berries over cream, because the valley has never once been subtle.
Who rides with it
Jam makers with purple thumbs. Kids pointing at the biggest basket. Anyone who has waited all summer for the good fruit and intends to be first in line.
Pair it at the next stop
Cherry Overload waits at Mile 15 when one fruit is not enough. One honest note before you pick a colorway: this scent pours golden and warms to amber over time, so a felt backing is the move for keeping cream designs crisp. The valley runs clear to Mile 38 from here. Pace yourself.
